Do you rent forever with cost rental or is it envisaged as short to medium term? Is it envisaged that tenants in cost rental will ultimately buy their own homes?
Hi Rose, the tenancies are indefinite so you can rent for life, assuming you pay your rent etc. Tenants cannot purchase their homes though.
In countries like Austria, which have very large cost rental sectors, you can also move to another house within the sector, for example if you want more bedrooms for a growing family.
In the Irish case only time will tell if people stay long term.
